Elementor Cloud Review – A Good Hosting Option or Just Hype?

Look, I’ll level with you – when Elementor announced they were jumping into the hosting game with Elementor Cloud, I was sceptical. Another hosting service? Really? Haven’t we got enough of those already? But after putting it through its paces at Magnifyi for several client projects, I’ve formed some rather strong opinions about this all-in-one website solution. So grab a cuppa (or something stronger if you’re reading this after 5 pm), and let’s dive into whether Elementor Cloud is worth your hard-earned cash or just another flashy service with more style than substance.

The website building landscape is already more crowded than a London tube at rush hour. From your standard shared hosting with cPanel to fancy managed WordPress services, there’s no shortage of options. So when Elementor decided to throw their hat into the ring, I couldn’t help but wonder if this was just another case of a company expanding beyond their expertise or something genuinely innovative.

At Magnifyi, we’ve worked with practically every hosting provider under the sun – the good, the bad, and the downright hideous. We’ve dealt with hosting companies that promise the earth for pennies (spoiler alert: they rarely deliver) and premium providers charging top dollar for marginally better service. So when it comes to Elementor Cloud, we approached it with the healthy skepticism of people who’ve been burned before.

What Exactly Is Elementor Cloud?

Before we get stuck in, let’s be crystal clear about what Elementor Cloud actually is. In a nutshell, Elementor Cloud is a hosting service from the folks who brought you the wildly popular Elementor page builder. It bundles together:

  • WordPress installation (fully managed)
  • Elementor Pro (the full-fat version, not the lite one)
  • Hosting infrastructure
  • SSL certificate
  • Custom domain connection
  • CDN services

The big idea? To create a one-stop-shop where you can build and host your WordPress site without having to faff about with separate hosting providers, plugin purchases, and technical setups. All for a single annual fee.

Sound too good to be true? Well, that’s what we’re here to find out!

When Elementor first launched back in 2016, it disrupted the WordPress market by making page building accessible to the masses. No longer did you need to be a coding wizard to create decent-looking websites. Their page builder quickly became the go-to solution for designers and developers who wanted to create custom WordPress sites without getting lost in a sea of code.

Fast forward to 2021, and Elementor decided to expand their empire with Elementor Cloud. It was a natural progression, really. After conquering the page builder market, why not tackle hosting too? The premise was simple but compelling: eliminate the technical barriers between having an idea for a website and getting it live on the internet.

But here’s the thing – hosting is a different beast entirely from page building. It’s one thing to create a fantastic interface for designing websites; it’s quite another to ensure those websites load quickly, remain secure, and stay online 24/7. Many companies have tried to enter the hosting space only to retreat with their tails between their legs when they realized just how complex it can be.

So when we at Magnifyi first heard about Elementor Cloud, we approached it with a healthy dose of skepticism. Would they be able to deliver a hosting experience that matched the quality of their page builder? Or would this be another case of a company stretching themselves too thin? Let’s dig in and find out.

The Promised Land: Elementor Cloud’s Key Features

When the Elementor team launched Elementor Cloud, they made some pretty bold claims about what it offers. Let’s break down the headline features and see if they deliver the goods.

All-Inclusive Pricing Structure

At Magnifyi, we’ve seen more pricing structures than we’ve had hot dinners, and most of them hide nasty surprises in the small print. Elementor Cloud comes in at £75/$99 per year which covers:

  • The hosting (obviously)
  • Elementor Pro license
  • 20GB of storage
  • 100GB of monthly bandwidth
  • 100K monthly visits
  • Free SSL certificate
  • 1-click WordPress installation

When you consider that Elementor Pro alone would cost you £49, this doesn’t seem like a bad deal on paper. But the real question is: does the hosting quality match up to dedicated providers? We’ll get to that in a jiffy.

The Promised Simplicity

Elementor Cloud’s big selling point is simplicity. One dashboard to rule them all, as it were. No more juggling between your hosting control panel, WordPress admin, and Elementor settings. In theory, this should make for a smoother workflow and less of those “which bloody login is this again?” moments.

In practice, the unified dashboard is… decent. It’s clean, intuitive, and puts most of the essential functions within easy reach. However, power users (like us at Magnifyi) might find it a bit limiting compared to the granular control offered by dedicated hosting providers like WP Engine or Kinsta.

The first time I logged into the Elementor Cloud dashboard, I was pleasantly surprised by how clean everything looked. There’s none of that overwhelming clutter you get with traditional cPanel interfaces where you’re bombarded with icons for services you’ll never use. Instead, you’re greeted with a straightforward menu that gives you access to the essentials – site management, domain settings, usage statistics, and billing information.

For someone who’s spent countless hours navigating the labyrinthine depths of various hosting control panels, this simplicity is a breath of fresh air. No more hunting for that one specific setting buried six levels deep in a menu structure designed by someone who clearly enjoys watching people suffer.

But simplicity comes at a cost. As we started working on more complex projects at Magnifyi, we began to notice the limitations. Want to set up a staging environment for testing major updates? Sorry, not available. Need to modify PHP settings for a particular plugin? Not without jumping through hoops. Looking for detailed server logs to troubleshoot a specific issue? Good luck with that.

It’s a classic case of the Pareto principle – Elementor Cloud’s dashboard handles the 80% of tasks that most users need, but it falls short on the 20% that power users and agencies rely on. Whether this is a problem depends entirely on your specific needs and technical expertise.

Automatic Updates & Backups

Another headline feature is the automatic updates and daily backups. As someone who’s had to clean up after a botched WordPress update more times than I care to remember, this sounds like a dream.

And credit where credit’s due – the system works quite well. Updates are applied smoothly, and the backup system is reliable enough for most scenarios. But again, it lacks some of the finesse of specialist hosting providers. There’s no staging environment for testing updates before they go live, which is a bit of a glaring omission for professional developers.

Performance: The Moment of Truth

Right, let’s cut to the chase – how fast is Elementor Cloud? Because let’s be honest, all the fancy features in the world don’t matter a jot if your site loads slower than a sloth on Valium.

Speed Tests: The Numbers

We put Elementor Cloud through its paces with a standard WordPress installation and a moderately complex Elementor page (hero section, image gallery, contact form – the usual suspects).

Here’s what we found:

  • Average TTFB (Time To First Byte): 320ms
  • Full page load time: 1.8s
  • Google PageSpeed Insights score: 85-90 (mobile), 90-95 (desktop)

Not too shabby, especially when compared to budget hosting providers. The CDN integration clearly does some heavy lifting here, and you can tell they’ve optimized their server configuration specifically for WordPress and Elementor.

However – and it’s a significant however – once you start pushing the limits with more complex designs, multiple plugins, or higher traffic, the performance advantage begins to wane. This is where dedicated premium hosting providers still have the edge.

Uptime & Reliability

Over a three-month monitoring period, we recorded an uptime of 99.95% for our Elementor Cloud test site. That’s roughly 22 minutes of downtime per month, which is decent but not exceptional.

The real test came during a product launch for one of our clients at Magnifyi, where traffic spiked to about 2,500 visitors in a single hour. The site remained stable, though we did notice a slight increase in load times during peak traffic. Not a deal-breaker, but something to be aware of if you’re planning any major promotional activities.

The User Experience: Smooth Sailing or Choppy Waters?

Let’s talk about actually using the bloody thing, shall we? Because specs and features are all well and good, but what matters is the day-to-day experience of building and managing sites on Elementor Cloud.

Site Setup Process

Getting started with Elementor Cloud is refreshingly straightforward:

  1. Sign up and pay
  2. Choose a subdomain (yoursitename.elementor.cloud) or connect your custom domain
  3. Wait for the WordPress installation (takes about 2 minutes)
  4. Start building

No server configuration, no WordPress installation headaches, no plugin activations – it just works. For freelancers and agencies tired of the repetitive setup process, this is genuinely a time-saver.

The Editing Experience

This is where Elementor Cloud should shine, given that it’s built specifically for Elementor. And for the most part, it does. The editor is responsive, changes save quickly, and there’s none of that frustrating lag you sometimes get with overloaded shared hosting.

However, I did notice occasional disconnections when working on complex pages for extended periods, requiring a refresh and resulting in a few lost changes. Nothing catastrophic, but irritating nonetheless.

Site Management Features

The site management dashboard is where Elementor Cloud falls a bit short compared to specialist WordPress hosts. While it covers the basics (backups, domain settings, usage stats), it lacks more advanced features like:

  • Staging environments
  • Git integration
  • Advanced caching options
  • Database tools
  • Detailed performance analytics

For basic to intermediate sites, these limitations might not matter. But for agencies like Magnifyi building complex client sites, these omissions can lead to workflow compromises.

Security: Keeping the Bad Guys Out

Website security is no joke – just ask anyone who’s had to clean up after a hack. Elementor Cloud promises robust security measures, but how do they stack up?

Security Features Overview

Elementor Cloud offers a solid security foundation:

  • Free SSL certificate
  • Regular WordPress core updates
  • WAF (Web Application Firewall)
  • DDoS protection
  • Daily backups

These measures will keep most sites safe from common threats and automated attacks. The automatic updates are particularly valuable, as outdated WordPress cores and plugins are the entry point for most security breaches.

Real-world Security Testing

We ran a few basic security scans against our test site using tools like Sucuri and WPScan. The results were encouraging – no obvious vulnerabilities or security misconfigurations were detected.

However, Elementor Cloud doesn’t offer some of the more advanced security features you might find with security-focused hosts, such as malware scanning, IP blocking, or two-factor authentication for website access. If security is your top priority, you might want to supplement Elementor Cloud with a dedicated security plugin.

Scaling & Growth: Will It Grow With You?

Any decent hosting solution should be able to grow with your site. So how does Elementor Cloud handle scaling?

Resource Limitations

The standard Elementor Cloud plan includes:

  • 100K monthly visits
  • 20GB storage
  • 100GB monthly bandwidth

For most small to medium-sized business websites, blogs, or portfolios, these limits are perfectly adequate. However, if you’re running a busy e-commerce store or a high-traffic content site, you might find yourself bumping up against these limitations.

The problem? Currently, there’s no option to upgrade to a higher-tier plan within Elementor Cloud. Once you hit those limits, your options are to either accept the restrictions or migrate to a different hosting provider entirely – neither of which is ideal.

Plugin Compatibility

One area where Elementor Cloud surprised me positively was plugin compatibility. Despite being optimized specifically for Elementor, it handles most third-party plugins without any issues. We tested popular plugins like:

  • WooCommerce
  • Yoast SEO
  • Contact Form 7
  • UpdraftPlus
  • Various caching plugins

All worked without a hitch, which isn’t always the case with some managed WordPress hosting environments that restrict certain plugins for performance reasons.

Support: Help When You Need It?

Even the best hosting service will have issues occasionally, and that’s when quality support becomes invaluable. Elementor Cloud offers 24/7 support via chat and ticket system – but how good is it really?

Support Response Times

In our testing, chat support response times averaged around 5-8 minutes, which is acceptable if not exceptional. Ticket responses generally came within 4-6 hours, though more complex issues sometimes took a full day to resolve.

The support staff are clearly knowledgeable about Elementor (as you’d expect), but we found their WordPress hosting expertise to be somewhat variable. Some agents were clearly WordPress wizards, while others seemed to be working from scripts for common issues.

Knowledge Base & Self-Help Resources

The Elementor Cloud knowledge base is decent, if not comprehensive. It covers the basics of getting started, connecting domains, and troubleshooting common issues. However, it doesn’t match the depth of documentation offered by established hosting providers like WP Engine or Kinsta.

At Magnifyi, we’ve found that good documentation often saves more time than support tickets, so this is an area where Elementor Cloud could definitely up their game.

The Price Tag: Value for Money?

Let’s talk money, shall we? Elementor Cloud costs £75/$99 per year. Is it worth it?

Cost Comparison

To put this in perspective, let’s compare it with alternatives:

Option 1: Elementor Cloud (£75/year)

  • Hosting + Elementor Pro + domain connection + SSL

Option 2: Separate services

  • Basic WordPress hosting: £60-120/year
  • Elementor Pro: £49/year
  • SSL certificate: £0 (Let’s Encrypt)
  • Total: £109-169/year

On paper, Elementor Cloud offers good value, especially when you consider the convenience of having everything under one roof. However, this comparison assumes that the quality of hosting is equivalent, which isn’t always the case.

The Hidden Costs

While the pricing seems straightforward, there are some “hidden costs” to consider:

  • No staging environment means more risk of live-site errors
  • Limited scalability might force a migration as your site grows
  • Fewer advanced features could mean purchasing additional plugins

These aren’t direct financial costs, but they do represent potential future expenses or workflow inefficiencies that should factor into your decision.

Who Should Use Elementor Cloud?

After thoroughly testing Elementor Cloud at Magnifyi, I’ve got a pretty clear idea of who should (and shouldn’t) be considering this service.

Perfect For:

  • Freelancers looking for a quick way to set up client sites without technical hassle
  • Small businesses wanting a simple all-in-one solution
  • Elementor enthusiasts who primarily build with Elementor and want an optimized environment
  • Bloggers and content creators with moderate traffic needs

Perhaps Look Elsewhere If You’re:

  • E-commerce businesses expecting high traffic or requiring specialized hosting features
  • Agencies (like us at Magnifyi) needing advanced workflows with staging environments
  • Developers who require granular server control or specialized configurations
  • High-traffic websites that will quickly exceed the 100K monthly visit limit

The Verdict: Good Hosting Option or Just Hype?

So, after all that, is Elementor Cloud worth your hard-earned cash, or is it just clever marketing?

The answer, as with most things in life, is “it depends.”

Elementor Cloud delivers exactly what it promises: a streamlined, unified solution for building and hosting WordPress sites with Elementor. The performance is solid, the user experience is smooth, and the price point is competitive when you factor in the included Elementor Pro license.

For freelancers, small businesses, and Elementor enthusiasts, it’s a genuinely excellent option that removes many of the technical barriers to getting a professional site online. In these cases, it’s definitely more than just hype.

However, for larger businesses, e-commerce sites, or agencies working on complex projects, the limitations become more apparent. The lack of staging environments, advanced workflow tools, and scalability options means that serious professionals might soon outgrow what Elementor Cloud can offer.

At Magnifyi, we’ve found Elementor Cloud to be a brilliant solution for certain client projects – particularly small business sites and brochure websites where budgets are tight and technical requirements are moderate. For more complex projects, however, we still lean toward specialized WordPress hosting providers with more advanced features.

I remember working on a project for a local bakery that needed a simple but effective website to showcase their products and take basic enquiries. The client had a tight budget and minimal technical knowledge. In this scenario, Elementor Cloud was absolutely perfect. We had their site up and running in record time, with all the Elementor Pro features at our disposal, and the client found it easy to make basic updates themselves after a short training session.

Contrast that with another project we tackled for an e-commerce client planning to run flash sales with potentially thousands of concurrent users. In this case, we steered well clear of Elementor Cloud. The resource limitations and lack of advanced caching options would have been a recipe for disaster. Instead, we opted for a high-performance dedicated hosting solution that could handle traffic spikes without breaking a sweat.

One aspect I haven’t touched on yet is the emotional factor. There’s something genuinely satisfying about having everything under one roof. The mental overhead of managing multiple accounts, remembering different passwords, and keeping track of various renewal dates is not to be underestimated. For solo entrepreneurs and small teams already feeling overwhelmed by the technical aspects of running a website, Elementor Cloud offers a refreshing simplicity that has genuine value beyond the technical specifications.

It’s also worth considering the time savings. At Magnifyi, we’ve calculated that setting up a new WordPress site on traditional hosting – including configuring WordPress, installing plugins, setting up SSL, and configuring basic security – takes us around 45-60 minutes even with our streamlined processes. With Elementor Cloud, we can have a site ready for design work in under 10 minutes. For agencies billing by the hour, that time saving alone can justify the cost.

Perhaps the most telling aspect of our experience with Elementor Cloud is that we now include it as a standard option in our client proposals, alongside our traditional hosting recommendations. We let the client’s requirements and budget drive the decision, rather than assuming one solution fits all. And increasingly, clients are opting for the simplicity and integration of Elementor Cloud, especially when they plan to maintain the site themselves after handover.

Final Thoughts: The Future of Elementor Cloud

Elementor Cloud is still relatively new to the market, and the team has been actively developing and improving it since launch. If they address some of the current limitations – particularly adding staging environments, increased scalability options, and more advanced site management tools – it could become a serious contender even for professional agencies.

The foundation is certainly strong, and the integration with Elementor Pro creates a uniquely streamlined experience that dedicated hosting providers can’t match. With some additional polish and feature expansion, Elementor Cloud could evolve from “good for certain use cases” to “recommended for most Elementor users.”

Until then, it remains a solid option for simpler projects and users who prioritize convenience over advanced features. Not just hype, but not quite the revolutionary hosting solution it aspires to be… yet.
